Cosiest chalet lounges in Les Arcs in 2019
The best chalets to relax in after a day on the mountain
Traditional Alpine chalets are the epitome of cosiness with their warm wooden walls, sumptuous sofas and outdoor hot tubs. However, what really makes a chalet most welcoming is a fireplace. Imagine enjoying a hot chocolate or 'vin chaud' in front of a roaring fire after a long day on the slopes... the perfect picture of Alpine bliss.
We've compiled a list with some of the cosiest chalets in Les Arcs. They all offer a home away from home feel and, of course, a fireplace dominating the living area.
Worth knowing
This is only a tiny selection of the dozens of chalets that we have on offer. Visit our Chalets page and book your temporary home in the Alps.
Barthelemy Chalet
This large eight-bedroom chalet is located in the quiet village of Peisey, just a short walk from the lifts. Its large windows and understated decor make it a great place to rest after a day on the slopes. But it's the large, traditional, stone fireplace that dominates the living area what makes it just heavenly.
Marmotton Chalet
Marmotton Chalet has five bedrooms and is also located in Peisey, only 150m from the ski lifts. The open-plan dining area and lounge boasts a glass-fronted fireplace surrounded by sofas and armchairs, creating a cocoon of peace and tranquility. Just put your feet up and feel how your sore muscles relax.
Cairn Chalet
For a more contemporary take on cosiness, there's Cairn Chalet. It sleeps 14 people in seven bedrooms and is situated right on the border of the Vanoise National Park, offering breathtaking views over the surrounding nature. The second floor has a huge open-plan area with floor to ceiling windows where you can unwind after a day on the slopes. The ultra-modern freestanding fireplace is bang in the middle of this space, between the living and dining/kitchen areas, radiating its warmth in every direction.
The Farmhouse
Situated in Villaroger, a village just 30m from the chairlift, The Farmhouse is ideal for a large group as it sleeps 20 people in seven bedrooms. It features a large lounge with a huge open log fire just in front of the large banquet-style table. Recently renovated, this is the perfect place to bring all your friends or family.
Maison Caramel
Located in the edge of the quaint village of Landry, this restored 19th-century farmhouse has been turned into a boutique chalet offering six bedrooms. Its quintessentially Alpine living room is dominated by an unconventional but cool red wood burner surrounded by equally colourful and plush sofas and armchairs.
